The Hidden FortressHello everyone!

Our latest event is movie night this Thursday in collaboration with ANU Japan club. You are all welcome to enjoy yourself a fun evening and also contribute to the rebuilding of Japan

Venue: Manning Clarke Centre MCC T1

Date & Time: Thursday 7th April, 6 pm

We are showing a fantastic Japanese movie “The Hidden Fortress” which is George Luca’s inspiration for star wars episode IV, featuring legendary director Akira Kurosawa.

The 1958 action-classic is about the story of a warrior and a princess trying against all odds to return to their homeland with their fortune. Along the way, they are simultaneously assisted and thwarted by two itinerant and not-too-bright farmers with their own designs on the treasure, giving the story a subtle comic bent. Overall it according to Amazon combines an epic tale of struggle and honour with modern comic sensibilities, creating a masterful addition to world cinema.

Entry will be by gold coin donation, and will come with a ticket for a lucky draw prize. Winner gets a bottle of SAKE or Akira Kurosawa DVD collection, or a gorgeous replica UKIYOE PRINT!

Food will provided for free, and drinks will cost just $1. We also encourage you to make some paper cranes at the event, and we will have a person skilled in the art of origami to provide help if you need it.

See you all there!
